On December 5, 2012, CAAA International Communication and Cooperation Seminar was held in Beijing . Andrew Maharaj, Second Secretary (Agriculture), Government of Canada, Sun Wei, Officer of Agriculture, Food & Drink, and International Property, British Embassy Beijing, Sarah Wang, Trade Development Executive, New Zealand Embassy, Li Bo, Commercial Officer, Embassy of Ireland, Wendy Zhang, Trade Representative - China Office, Iowa Economic Development Authority, Joy Tang, China Manager, Meat & Livestock Australia, Ina Enting, Director, Dutch Meat & Feed Centre, Xiaoping Zhang, Deputy Director, International Marketing, American Soybean Association, Mr. Hu Song, Chief Representative in China, Canadian Swine Exporters Association, Richard Y. Han Ph.D, Animal Utilization Technical Director, International Marketing, American Soybean Association, Berry Wang, Chief Representative China, Dutch Meat & Feed Centre, and Qin Xuan, Project Manager, AgroTech Service, German Agriculture Society, attended the seminar, which was organized by the International Cooperation Department of China Animal Agriculture Association.
Keynote Speech, Pragmatic Cooperation
Ai Lin, Director of International Cooperation Department, made a keynote speech on CAAA International Communication and Cooperation. Mrs. Ai Lin, introduced to the participants the basic situation of China Animal Agriculture Association, and progress made since CAAA's foundation in its way to actively guide the membership to carry out the international cooperation and explore international and domestic market. Mrs. Ai Lin noted that, CAAA will continue to accelerate its internationalization pace and is ready to strengthen communication and exchange with the present agencies, improve bilateral friendship and pragmatic cooperation.
Mr. Liu Wentao, Deputy Director of Exhibition Department, made a keynote speech on The Eleventh (2013) China Animal Husbandry Expo. Mr. Liu updated the participants the preparatory progress and the international cooperation idea on the Eleventh CAHE, to be held in May, 2013, in Wuhan . Mr. Liu noted that, the 2013 CAHE will continue to accelerate its internationalization pace. It is the hope of CAAA to further improve exchange and dialogue and expand the field of cooperation and cooperative mode, based on the long-term cooperation with the foreign embassies, foreign agencies and industry association.
Andrew Maharaj, Second Secretary (Agriculture), Government of Canada made a speech on Canadian Western Agribition. The show has been operating for 42 years and held every year in November in Regina , Sasktchewan. It started as a beef show, and has grown to an international event focused on beef cattle, bison, sheep, goats, horses, dry land farming equipment and technologies, and cattle handling equipment and technologies. Mr. Andrew expressed his hope to invite domestic husbandry companies to pay close attention to and join the tradeshow.
Ina Enting, Director of Dutch Meat & Feed Center, made a speech on Cooperation CAAA 2013. Ina Enting briefed the participants on the long-sustained ties between her center and CAAA and the mutual support of each other's activities. Dutch Meat & Feed Center has organized Holland Exhibitor Delegation to China Animal Agriculture Association for several times, and had helped to organize the CAAA European Delegation Tour in 2010 and 2012. Ina Enting said both sides would strengthen cooperation and communication on husbandry breeding, breeding technologies, disease control and animal welfare, waste treatment, technology innovation and etc. Meanwhile, the Dutch part is planning to establish a Holland Pavilion in the 2013 CAHE and actively invite related Holland firms to take part in. Besides, Ina Enting also said that she would actively join the Third Global Pig Forum, strive to hold a Sino-Holland Seminar, help CAAA in its 2013 European Tour Delegation, and seek more Holland representatives to visit China to carry out inspection and dialogue on trade.
Xiaoping Zhang, Deputy Director, International Marketing, American Soybean Association, delivered a speech on Association hand-in-hand to serve the industry. Mr. Zhang reviewed the American Soybean Association of its 30 years of technology service and promotion in China and progress made by the American side and the CAAA side in their friendly cooperation - especially in their cooperation in poultry industry, swine industry. Mr. Zhang expressed his willingness to deepen extensive cooperation and communication with CAAA, especially in the filed of scale development, collective development, modernized husbandry industry, which are more than ever in need of experience and methods from advanced husbandry country like U.S. American Soybean Association is willing to be the most trustworthy partner of China Animal Agriculture Association, Mr Zhang said.
Representatives, in succession, expressed willingness to cooperate
Mr. Hu Song, Chief Representative in China of Canadian Swine Exporters Association introduced Banff Pork Seminar in Alberta every January and the Canada 's Outdoor Farm Show in Ontario every September. The Banff Pork Seminar focuses on new pig farming technologies.
Li Bo, Commercial Officer, Embassy of Ireland, said, Ireland is unique in its livestock farming, management, food security, training program. Both sides could strengthen communication and exchange in the filed of cattle industry, sheep & goat industry, dairy industry and etc.
Qin Xuan, Project Manager, Asian Office of German Agriculture Society, emphatically introduced to the participants the upcoming 2013 BioEnergy Expo and Summit in cooperation with CAAA during the 11 th CAHE. To uphold the governance philosophy of the 18 th CPC Congress, the two sides are striving to explore new ways of developing bio-energy industry based on the momentum signed by the Chinese central government and the German government on biogas cooperation.
Joy Tang , China Manager, Meat & Livestock Australia gave a brief introduction of cooperation and communication between MLA and CAAA, especially in the cattle industry and sheep & goat industry. She also expressed her willingness to strengthen bilateral ties in the future. ??The two sides may explore better cooperative mode and method in popularize beef consumption knowledge among the consumers and tap the Chinese beef consuming market??.
Sun Wei, Officer of Agriculture, Food & Drink, and Intellectual Property of British Embassy Beijing briefed the organized exhibitors by the British Embassy during the 10 th CAHE in Nanjing , where CAAA had the honour to invite Agriculture Minister Jim Paice to deliver a speech for the opening ceremony. Mr. Sun said, in 2013, the British side will continue to organize delegation to take part in 11 th (2013) CAHE and attend the Global Pig Forum. Mr. Sun also mentioned that CAAA and Denmark cooperation and CAAA and U.S cooperation in co-organizing pig-related forum are good examples for them to follow, which are in the benefit of both sides. Besides, Mr. Sun also introduced a husbandry exhibition in Birmingham and expressed his hope to invite CAAA part to take part in the exhibition and inspect local husbandry enterprises.
Meanwhile, Wendy Zhang, Trade Representative-China Office, Iowa Economic Development Authority, Sarah Wang, Trade Development Executive, Embassy of New Zealand, Berry Wang, Chief Representative China of Dutch Meat & Feed Center, Richard Y. Han, Animal Utilization Technical Director, American Soybean Association, actively take part in the interactive discussion section and expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperation in the future.
CAAA, Sincerely Welcome Foreign Delegation to attend CAHE
CAAA had just finished its tour to Eurotier under the leadership of Vice Secretary-general Gong Guifen in Hanover , Germany . Besides, the delegation also inspected pig farming enterprises, slaughtering house, food processing enterprises and feed production enterprises in Germany , Holland , Denmark and France . These activities are necessary and urgent to meet the need of international communication and cooperation, Vice Secretary-general Gong Guifen noted.
Vice Secretary-general Liu Qiangde emphatically introduced to the participants the upcoming 2013 Wuhan China Animal Husbandry Expo and its complementary services. Mr. Liu noted that, the 2013 CAHE would create a new mode of Husbandry Expo by improving electronic appliances application, strive to build an official platform for Farmer-Supermarket Gearing and provide comprehensive and considerate services to exhibitors home and abroad. Mr. Liu also expressed his hope that, the participants can avail this opportunity to strengthen communication and cooperation. We sincerely invite foreign embassies, industry association, and other related agencies to take part in the 2013 CAHE individually or as a group. Mr. Liu said at last.
