The Fourteenth (2016) China Pig industry Development Conference

After two years of lasting sluggish in 2013 and 2014, the hog market bottomed out in 2015, with prices rising sharply, and the industry turning from loss to gains. Entering the year of 2016, the hog price and pork-grain price ratio continue keeping record high. The sustained high price is a rebound, manifesting the recovery and compensation of the market. The newly revised "China Environmental Protection Law", formally promulgated and implemented on January 1, 2015, calls for an intensification of the implementation of environmental policies, with the government issuing Ten Clauses of Water Pollution Control Action Plan, and Guidance on the Optimization of Pig Breeding Areas in South China Riparian Region in a row. The so-called 'most stringent' newly revised 'Food Safety Law' also came into effect on October 1, 2015. The increasing domestic and foreign price gap puts great pressure on pork imports, and the sustained downward economic pressure also hinders the improvement of consumption.

The newly promulgated laws and regulation calls for the optimization of pig breeding amid policies and market pressure. An industry mode in line with Chinese situation is required to both improve efficiency and ensure biological and food security.
To this end, China Animal Agriculture Association, together with National Swine Industry Technology System, is scheduled to hold the Fourteenth (2016) China Pig industry Development Conference in Tianjin from September 1-2, 2016. Industry leaders, renowned experts, scholars and entrepreneurs will make presentations on focal points and difficult issues of pig industry, engage in on-site interaction, and share successful experiences. Pig and related industry operators are welcome to join the conference.
