Great changes have taken place in the pig industry in China and U.S. With the integration of industry, the number of pig farm is dwindling and the mode of operation is developing toward professionalism. Against this backdrop, both of the two countries need improve productivity, reduce outbreak of diseases, while at the same time pay attention to food security and increase investment in manure treatment. Meanwhile, the self-made compound feed has been gradually squeezed out by commercial feed. To create favorable conditions for policy implementation, solve food security and environmental protection problems, and strike a balance between industry integration and professionalism, 2015 Sino-US Swine Industry Seminar will be held by China Animal Agriculture Association, together with US Grain Council, US Soybean Export Council, US Meat Export Federation, China Meat Association, China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce, China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association on Sep. 16, 2015, based on the theme of 'Development Mode of Pig Farming: Market Mechanism, Policies and Practices'.
